Who We Serve

A hearty crop of hungry minds and hard-working hands

Community

Farm to School of Park County is deeply rooted in community. Our programs and work succeed and grow in large part due to the passion and involvement of people who live and work in Park County and are committed to building a healthy, equitable and prosperous food culture. No matter your experience, age, interest or ability, we invite all members of the community to participate. Whether you secure a spot in our community garden, volunteer with seasonal programs or make a contribution to the Plowshare Fund, there are endless opportunities to make a difference by joining Farm to School.

There’s a seat for everyone at the table.

Families

Farm to School of Park County understands the challenge of planning, preparing and enjoying a delicious, nutritious and well balanced meal. Not just for children, but for every member of the family. From hard-working parents who need a day off from packing school lunches to legal guardians and grandparents wanting a bit more information on how and where to source healthy ingredients, Farm to School welcomes families of all shapes and sizes to participate, learn and grow.  We serve students (and their families!) grades 2YK through 12th across Park County.

Learn and grow with Farm to School.

Food Producers

We partner with local food producers across Park County in an effort to support, build and strengthen the local agricultural community. By connecting ranchers, farmers and local food businesses to a growing network of public school food markets, Farm to School generates direct economic benefits for owners and operators while contributing to a robust local food economy.

Help connect Montana schools with Montana food.

Schools and Educators

We partner with public school districts throughout the county, carefully tailoring educational programs in ways that suit the particular needs of students, educators, foodservice staff, families and the community. Each school year, we work in tandem with public schools to provide hundreds of learning experiences to Park County students. We help schools to improve local food procurement and promote the acceptance of local menu items through cafeteria taste tests, support teachers as they work alongside Farm to School educators in the classroom, farms and gardens, and give school nutrition and food service staff the confidence and training needed to purchase fresh, tasty, local food for their students.
