Community

Farm to School of Park County thrives because of our community. Local families, farmers, volunteers, and businesses help us create stronger, healthier, and more resilient food systems while supporting students’ learning and nutrition. There are many ways to get involved – growing in our community garden, volunteering with seasonal programs, or contributing to the Plowshare Fund. Together, we build a vibrant, equitable local food culture.

Families

We know families are key partners in helping lessons stick. By engaging parents, guardians, and caregivers, we aim to reinforce healthy eating habits at home, provide tools and resources to prepare nutritious meals, and extend the impact of school programs beyond the classroom. Our programs and outreach reach students – and their families – from Pre-K through 12th grade across Park County.

Farms & Ranches

We connect schools with local farms and ranches, strengthening the region’s agricultural community. By linking producers to school food markets and bringing them into classrooms through our Farmer in the Classroom program, we support local farmers and ranchers while building a vibrant, resilient local food economy.

Schools & Educators

We partner with public schools across Park County, tailoring programs to meet the needs of students, teachers, foodservice staff, and families. Each year, we provide hundreds of hands-on learning experiences – classroom lessons, farm and garden visits, and cafeteria taste tests – while supporting schools in purchasing and serving fresh, local food.
